Paval Sieviaryniets: Authorities continue pressure on BCD’s activists

On September 1 the heads of the party “Belarusian Christian Democracy” told journalists about actual situation which lately occurred around BCD and about pressure on activists of the party.

Let’s remind that last week the Ministry of Justice refused the registration of the party “Belarusian Christian Democracy” once again. “First, we note that the decision about filing the documents for registration of BCD once again will be taken at the National council of the assembly which will take place on December 19. In connection with the fact that every campaign of registration of the party becomes a wave of repressions against the founders of BCD, we doubt that we need to organize this campaign once again”, - said Paval Sieviaryniets. According to the words of co-head of the party “Belarusian Christian Democracy”, the ruling power of the party will take review against the judgment of the Ministry of Justice about the denial of the state registration of the organization in the Supreme Court of Belarus. “It’s a total lawlessness. Four days after the denial of the state registration all the state structures – executive committees, KGB, workers of the Ministry of Justice – continue to ring round the founders of the party and horrify members of BCD, which is totally illegal, - stressed Paval Sieviaryniets. The month which was given to check the documents of BCD is over and no serious facts against BCD were found and now the Ministry of Justice urgently and convulsively tries to find them. Today’s accidents in Minsk region and the accidents of the end of the last week in Slutsk and Maladzechna and the ringing round people in Minsk – all this is lawlessness and we will fix all these facts for Belarusian and international society”. The politician noted that the heads of the party state that BCD will act in spite of the decision of the Ministry of Justice. “The party will prepare for serious campaigns in a very serious way with a wide nomination of candidates and take part in local elections”, - claimed Paval Sieviaryniets. The co-head of the party said that on of the rulers of the party is preparing a complain to court about the slander material about BCD and personally himself which was shown in the television program “Panarama” on December 13 on the first channel of Belarusian television.
